These Terms & Conditions apply to vehicle sourcing and export services provided by Japan Auto Source, operated by Watson Japan Co., Ltd. in Japan. By requesting a quotation, approving a vehicle purchase, or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Services
Japan Auto Source provides vehicle sourcing and export services primarily for motor vehicle dealers in New Zealand.
We source vehicles from Japanese auctions, dealers and other trusted suppliers based on customer requirements and provide available vehicle and auction information before purchase.

2. Vehicle Requests and Quotations
Customers may provide vehicle requirements including make, model, year, mileage, grade, colour, budget and quantity.
Quotations, vehicle availability and FOB Japan prices are subject to change until a vehicle purchase has been confirmed.

3. Vehicle Information
We aim to provide accurate vehicle information based on auction sheets, inspection reports, supplier information and other information available to us.
Used vehicles may have normal wear, repairs, modifications or other conditions consistent with their age and previous use. Customers are responsible for reviewing the available vehicle information before approving a purchase.

4. Purchase Approval and Payment
A vehicle will only be purchased after the customer has approved the vehicle and applicable price or quotation.
Payment terms will be communicated before purchase. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, required payment must be received before Japan Auto Source purchases or releases the vehicle for export.
Once a vehicle has been purchased on the customer's instruction, cancellation may not be possible and any costs already incurred may remain payable.

5. FOB Japan and Shipping
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, vehicles are supplied on an FOB Japan basis.
FOB pricing includes the costs specifically stated in the quotation. Ocean freight, marine insurance, destination port charges, customs clearance, New Zealand taxes, registration, compliance and other destination-side costs are not included unless specifically stated.
Shipping schedules and estimated arrival dates are subject to vessel availability, port operations, shipping lines and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

6. New Zealand Import and Compliance
Customers are responsible for confirming that a vehicle is eligible for importation, entry certification, registration and use in New Zealand before approving its purchase.
Japan Auto Source may provide available information to assist customers but does not guarantee that a vehicle will satisfy all New Zealand regulatory or compliance requirements unless expressly agreed in writing.

7. Risk and Used Vehicle Condition
Vehicles supplied through Japan Auto Source are used vehicles unless expressly stated otherwise.
Vehicle condition is based on the information reasonably available at the time of purchase. Minor differences, wear or defects that were not reasonably identifiable from the available auction, inspection or supplier information may occur.
Risk transfers in accordance with the agreed shipping terms and applicable Incoterms stated in the quotation or invoice.

8. Limitation of Liability
Japan Auto Source will take reasonable care in sourcing vehicles and coordinating export arrangements.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, delays caused by shipping lines, ports, customs or other third parties, or matters outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Japan.
Any dispute relating to our services will first be addressed through good-faith discussions between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Japan, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be published on this website with the revised date.
